Default Hey I need some advice on skis

Hey I'm new here and I'm lookin around for some information on skiis because I am planning to buy a pair for the upcoming season

I live in Vancouver, so I'm up at Whistler skiing a lot of the time, Im 14 about 167 centimeters tall and 115 pounds-ish. I would say I am an advanced skiier although I am not too sure about the classifications for that. I'd say I ski black runs about 70% of the time, which are no problem for me, double black probably about 25%, they are a bit more challlenging for me than a single black, but are still really fun, and the OCCASIONAL triple black, but thats usually only when I'm with a much more expert skiier than myself, and who knows the terrain well. To give you an idea of the type of terrain I like to ski I really like runs like The Couloir of Whistler Peak along with the Sun Bowl which is a must whenever I am up in the area. I am also a fan of tree skiing which is what I first got into as a beginner so I've always had a thing for it. I like the CBC tre run of the Crystal Ridge area, it is still a big challenge for me to get all the way down, but again I'd only head in there with someone who knows where there going. I skiied the easier stuff off the spankys ladder area like the diamond and ruby bowls and really want to try out sapphire bowl but I want to find out the easiest way through the entry chutes first.

Anyways, just lookin for some suggestions on what brand and model skis I could possibly think about

Thanks a lot !!!

Powder the majority of the time unless i really like a certain groomed trail
if youve been to whistler, one of my favourite groomed runs is raven if youve got any idea what im talking about haha

as for the freestyle, i hardly ever go into the terrain parks unless im with someone who wants to
but in saying i do hit a lottt of jumps etc .. that might happen to be on a run
other than that then not really

From what i hear i would definately recomed you rossignols Zenith series, they are all mountain and you can do alot with them. If you do 90% of the time powder i recomend to see their powder skis. There are other brands but from my eperiance rossignol are the best and you can get what you want from them.
If you ever choose the rossignol zenith get the 2006/2007 model, they got better reviews than then 2007/2007 models.

Ciao

Well that would depend, i thought about bying them online and all but make sure you visit a store and touch them i dunno i find it special i have to get in touch and even try them so i know i am not spending 1k for nothing if you know what i mean.
Online is cheaper but the biggest issue you might have it communication problems incase something happens, you could get scammed hard so be carefull.
In my case i got my Z1 from europe because a relative was coming back and i wanted them (sux they didnt have the Z9s T_T). it all depends on what you want, how you are prepared to deal wiht the problems that might arise. However, there are online stores that end up being alot more expensive than local stores. Also, if your not to big on spending 1k over a pair then you could get them used i dunno if that would do it for you and how you plan on skiing and all but that is an option. Try ebay, the stores there seem okay for the most part.
If you go for some local store you can try them see what boots fit better and what z model or other ski models you might like better. the only issue there is that it will cost you more. It all depends on how keen you are on spending money.
In my case i want brand new stuff because i plan to skii long term and i dont mind spending more, plus i want to beg back in the competition so i am not afraid of spending the extra cash for comfort and peace of mind.

One last thing, make sure you get the propper boots for your skis i know that some of the z modells work best with some perticular boots better than with others.

I hope that helped.

PS: sory for the typing errors

Yeah I know what you mean by needing to see the skis before you get them, im usually the same for things.

I thought about and I think Im going to go for a pair of used skis because I dont want to end up spending a lot of money on a pair of skis i dont like. And Il have a better idea of what I want next year. As for boots, I am going to get my own new pair, just so I know that they will always fit me well.

Anyways thanks for the help I appretiate it !
