XC World Cup Resumes In Canmore
 
CANMORE, Alberta (Jan. 19) - After a month-long break, the Viessmann FIS Cross Country World Cup resumes Tuesday at the 1988 Olympic venue. Twenty-six U.S. skiers will participate in four days of World Cup racing. "They 'turn on the lights' Tuesday and we're ready to go," U.S. Head Coach Pete Vordenberg said. "We'll be disappointed if we don't get at least one podium."

"This is a great opportunity for us - for our World Cup skiers as well as those who will be racing in their first World Cup," Vordenberg said. Twelve of the U.S. skiers will be competing in their first World Cup race during the Canmore stop.

The schedule:

Tuesday - Pursuits (Men's 30K -15K Classic+15K Freestyle technique; Women's 15K - 7.5K CL+7.5K FR)
Wednesday - 1.2K CL sprints
Thursday - Training
Friday - Men's 15K FR, Women's 10K FR
Saturday - 1.2K FR sprints
