Equipment advice (yes, another)
Ok here we go...
I'm 27. I've been skiing for 24 years, but had a knee injury in 2001, so I don't do much, if any, freestyle skiing anymore. I have a set of K2 Three 170cm's, Marker bindings, and Nordica boots (rear latch, very little padding compared to current models). All from the early-mid 1990's.
I'm considering new equipment, but only if doing so will help me improve. Eventually I'd like to try back country skiing, but that's a few years off. For now, I just need a good set of all-mountain skis. It would be nice to get better boots as well, but again...only if they are an improvement for me. I know that new equipment is better, but I want to better my skills. The gear I have is still in pretty good shape, but I've noticed I don't feel as stable at fast speeds or through varying terrain as I once did. It very well could be that I'm just out of practice.
About me: I'm 6', 170lbs. I consider myself an intermediate-advanced skier. Not much off-piste, but I would like to get there eventually. I live in Ohio so trips out West only happen about once/year. When I do get out it's usually to Big Sky, Utah, or Colorado. Thanks for the help!
