By my calculations the skis are just over 5 feet in length...like 5'2" or 5'3". You said you're 5'9"...do the skis touch your chin if you stand next to them? If they are between your chin and nose they are probably the right length for your skills. Shorter skis will be easier to turn & manuver. Longer skies will generate more speed, as they have more surface area. Shorter skills are good for learning as they are more forgiving.
A good rule of thumb to follow is the overall height of ski should touch your chin if you are a beginner, nose for intermediate and forehead or taller for advanced to expert skiers.
