Default WCSN Launches Major Coverage Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Oct. 25) - World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), the premier destination for fans of Olympic and lifestyle sports, kicks off its third winter season with exclusive broadcast coverage of the 2007-08 International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup season beginning Saturday, Oct. 27. The schedule is the most extensive ever by any U.S. media outlet for skiing and snowboarding competitions.

Exclusive live and on-demand coverage of the entire six-month season begins this Saturday with the opening alpine races from Soelden, Austria. The men's and women's giant slalom races will be available online at WCSN - The Home of World Champions at noon ET each day with broadcasts on WCSN TV.

WCSN.com, in partnership with the FIS World Cups and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, will provide full event coverage in alpine, cross country, freestyle, nordic combined, ski jumping and snowboarding. Many of the events will be available live or same-day.

"WCSN has established itself as the top destination for the FIS World Cup season by offering access to every event. Our mission this winter is to serve the fans of alpine, cross country, snowboard, nordic combined, freestyle and ski jumping," said Claude Ruibal, CEO of WCSN. "Partnering with FIS and USSA brought a tremendous audience to WCSN last year, so we are very excited to continue our relationship with these events and their athletes."

Fans can experience like never before the competitive action from around the globe. The 2007-08 lineup will include freestyle's World Cups from Cypress Mountain, B.C, site of the 2010 Winter Games; Holmenkollen in Oslo, the "Fenway Park" for nordic sports; snowboarding World Cups with thousands of screaming fans from Gujo-Gifu, Japan; and alpine racing's Hahnenkamm downhill, the "Super Bowl" of men's skiing from Kitzbuehel, Austria, to name just a few of the more than 250 competitions covered by WCSN.

The drama of high-speed action along with the all-out rush of the World Cup will be complemented by exclusive commentary and blogs from world-class U.S. Ski Team athletes including Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA), U.S. champion Marco Sullivan (Squaw Valley, CA) and World Cup podium performer Scott Macartney (Crystal Mountain, WA). America's skiing superstar Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) also will provide weekly diary entries.

U.S. Snowboarding's Olympic silver medalist Gretchen Bleiler (Aspen, CO) and two-time X Games champion Steve Fisher (Breckenridge, CO) will blog about snowboarding.

"WCSN is providing an easy avenue for fans to connect with the world's best ski and snowboarding events and athletes on a consistent and timely basis," said USSA Vice President of Sales and Marketing Ted Morris. "Thanks to WCSN, it's an incredibly exciting time to be a fan of competitive skiing and snowboarding."

Fans can log onto WCSN.com to access complete live and on-demand video of the FIS World Cup season and exclusive access to winner results, photo galleries, behind-the-scenes features and more, via a $4.95 monthly subscription. Highlights from all events will be televised on World Championship Sports.
