Default Looking for family resort

Hi there,
I'm looking at going on a family skiing vacation middle of November. Children are 12 &17 and apart from the 17 year old we are pretty much amateurs. We would like to take a few days lessons and then do our own thing. We live in Maryland but are prepared to travel a distance to get decent snow at this time of year. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Default Whistler is a great family resort

I would choose Whistler if you don't mind traveling to Canada. Other options would be Killington or Tremblant on the East Coast.

i've been to killington and they've got great slopes for beginners. will definitely recommend them for your kids.

LOL at recommending Whistler for mid-November. Officially we don't open until American thanksgiving every year (end of Nov).
Some years we get good early snow and open early, but you can't guarantee it.

Interior BC resorts are normally open a little earlier than us, so I would say look into Big White (near Kelowna), its a good family orientated resort and its ski in - ski out for EVERYONE.

Naturally I recommend Whistler for a ski holiday, but not mid-November, or November at all. IMO Whistler is best around mid-Feb to March (before spring break, when it gets busy again)

I was just up at Yosemite National Park and they have a really nice ski resort inside the park. It is called Badger Pass. We went with a couple of beginners and they had a great time. It is not a big resort at all, but you can check out the national park while you aren't skiing.

If your still interested, there is a lovely resort down here in Australia, at Fall's Creek we always go skiing there.

The resort at Homewood is pretty cool
and relaxing. Surely, if you'll have
your family vacation there, you'll
enjoy it.
