I'm planning a trip to the Alps next year but have come up with a logistic problem. We would be flying from Helsinki either to Geneva or Turin, and spending a week in Val D'Isere and another in Courmayeur. It just seems that the transfers from one resort to the other are either non-existent or extremely expensive. There are just two of just travelling, so a rental car would become quite pricey, and we would need it only for moving from the airport to the resort anyway.

Has anyone managed to travel between the resorts without spending too much?

Not quite sure but you should be able to get the train or bus between resorts. Might not be direct but its a possibility. Its about a 2 hour drive and about 85km between the two.

I got a taxi from Courmayeur to Val d'Isere but it was expensive, about 300 Euros. Your best bet is to get a bus to geneva then bus to Courmayeur. For more information click the links on the resort names.
