Hey, a little info on me as I'm new here, but not to skiing, I've been skiing for the past 8 years and have been skiing in Whistler, Massif, Stoneham, Massif du Sud, Mont St. Anne, as well as most of the ski areas in Ontario.

I guess I should add here, I'm a bit of a double agent, I snowboard as well, but keep that in the park. I've been on a board for the past 6 years, and it's completely different than skiing, but at the same time, very similar (hard to explain)

I've often thought about trying to learn to snowboard. I am sure it is not as easy as it looks.

Learning to snowboard, IMO was much easier than learning to ski, infact within a day I could carve and go down trails that I could not go down even after being skiing for a few days. All you really need to learn how to snowboard besides the gear, is a helmet (for when your edges catch) and the drive to get down to the bottom without falling.
