Thats the way of the world, thats how money goes round. They find that people aren't willing to spend unless they are being lied to and honestly that is the truth. If it doesn't sound too goo to be true then it isn't worth buying.

Out of curiosity, how rampant is ski pass fraud? Are instances of it commonplace or is it an anomaly?

I mean you can't really say that you wouldn't use a fake pass if you could. I know that I would, if I thought I wasn't going to get caught, heck yeah I would.

I would be embarrassed to death if I was caught trying to sneak in on a fake pass. What a nightmare!
