Fancy standing on the summit of Mt Blanc this winter? And then skiing down? Now that would be some way to finish off the season!! It’s not as difficult as you might imagine either. The ascent takes about 8-10 hours (walking) or from the Italian side of the mountain you can enjoy a spectacular flight by helicopter and land within 3-4 hours walk of the top!
Climbing Western Europe’s highest peak is technically not difficult but you will need training in the use of crampons and the ridge to the summit is exposed so a good head for heights is essential! At 4807 metres, ‘the Blanc’ is high and you’ll need to acclimatize fully before attempting to reach the summit. So we propose a week of top quality ski touring and off-piste skiing to prepare you. This is the best time for real high mountain experiences….best for spring snow…and best for touring the backcountry with the mountains to ourselves. Go on….treat yourself to one last week and select this top-shelf adventure to close off your 2007 season.
