I think it is a bit like comparing Apples to Pears...they are both very similar in most respects, yet there are subtle differences that make each one better or not as good in certain conditions. I don`t think anyone would disagre that skis are better able to handle ice than a board. A board, ridden by someone who knows what they are doing is going to be more fun in deep powder. I think it is all about what the individual finds provides the best feeling. As a boarder, I love the feeling I get from the way a board rides the snow and I prefer a board to skis for most things.
One thing is for sure, we are all out here for the same reason and that is to enjoy the snow, so however you get around it is all good.
