Default Twin tip skis? PNW patroller

I have moved to Seattle and will be patrolling (NSP volunteer) in the local area. I have been considering a new pair of skis and the twin tip skis have caught my eye; not because I want to hotdog it with tricks but because we do a lot of side-slipping etc.

Questions:
1) Would the twin tip technology be good for a patroller?
2) What waist width is best for an all-mtn ski in Cascade snow conditions? I have heard 80-90mm from one ski company rep but would appreciate other opinions.

Apologies if this should be in the Hardware section. Newbie to the forum.
