Default skiing vs. mountain-climbing

If made to choose between the two sports, which would you pick and why? Which one is more challenging? more dangerous? more costly? better in terms of physical exercise?

I have never been mountain climbing, but would love to go. I think that would likely be more dangerous than skiing.

Hello Steph. Would have welcomed an explanation, but yes, maybe because of the ascent or climb which one has to do. But doesn't skiing also offers challenging slopes and curves?

I would stick with skiing because it is less expensive for me. If I were to do mountain climbing I would really need a guide, etc

In terms of challenge, I think there's more of it in mountain-climbing especially if we're talking about Mt. Everest. In here, there is a goal to reach. But with skiing it's mostly done on flat grounds although I have seen some mountain skiing in the movies, but there is nothing like going really high up there. It is the ultimate test of endurance.

I agree with the endurance comment. After all, skiing down slopes can be fairly quick and allows more room to "rest." Mountain climbing is much more continuous.

That is why I have never considered mountain-climbing as a diversion. Skiing would be more compatible to me.

Honestly I would choose skiing, I mean moutain climbing just seems a little way too much for me. I have seen many people dying from doing this.
