Powder Stoked is on a distinguished road
Default Fat-ypus Skis Canada Demo Days, Whitewater and Red Mountain

Powder Stoked is the Canadian Distributor of Fat-ypus Skis will be on the road doing Demo Days of our hand made skis imported from Colorado. We will be at WhiteWater Mountain Resort on Friday February 4th and Saturday February 5th in support of our dealer The Sacred Ride on Baker street in Nelson. Then on Sunday February 6th and Monday February 7th we will be at Red Mountain Resort in support of our local Rossland dealer Powderhound. To top it off I will be at BIG Red Cats on Tuesday the 8th and any guests and guides that are booked in for that day can try my powder skis too.

Fat-ypus Skis are some of the lightest most versatile skis made. We offer skis such as our B-Nasty for olympic level athletes like Dave Babic in the moguls freestyle event. Park and all mountain Jib skis like the G-Butter and L-Toro for athletes such as Adam Delorme. We offer Big Mountain competition skis such as the D-Sender and E-Motion for both men and women as featured on the Free Ski World Tour. Powder skis for the big mountain powder junkie that are great for competitions, Heli, Cat and Resort powder such as the award winning and Flagship A-Lotta and I-Rock/V-Rock series.

Fat-ypus in it 6 years of designing and selling hand crafted skis and has expanded the line to 8 models and 11 variations with 17 available skis in lengths ranging from 164 to 194 cm. We utilize everything from standard camber through to rocker and combinations of both to offer skis that will work for the strongest, hard line, cliff hucking shredder to the "I just want a ski that is not going to kill me on a powder day" skiers. We bring tradition together with leading edge to offer the most progressive user friendly skis on the market.

On the tech side we use a vertically laminated poplar wood core to offer a strong, resilient, long lasting consistent flex pattern mated to tri-directional fiberglass for reinforcement. Under the binding mount area of the ski we add extra sheets of the tri-directional glass for binding retention and ski stiffness under foot where you need it most. This offers a superior metal free light weight core with an amazing poppy liveliness when it is time to get airborne, yet a damp refined feel in crud or other rough conditions. We use a thick Graphite Sintered base material that offers an amazingly hard and rock resistant finish that holds wax extremely well and is exceptionally fast. Many racing skis use the same type of base. For our signature base graphic we use a precision die cut from the same type of base material in a bright colour that looks great and lasts. The edge material is the industry's best Rockwell 48 steel. This is a burly heavy duty edge material that will hod up to the worst abuse and still hold a reliable edge on an icy slope and can handle several base grinds. The side wall construction is the industry's best P-Tex side wall, it's tough and if you do significantly damage it it's the easiest to repair. The side walls use a trapezoidal profile to improve edge grip on steep slopes or when you are rippin' trenches on the groomers with your fat sticks. To quite literally top it all off we use a high resistance plastic top sheet with stunning graphics to give your new high quality hand made skis the look they deserve.

Since all of our skis have a great side side cut that offer a turn radius's that ranges from 18.1 m to 28.3 m all of our skis, even the fattest and the rocked ones will carve an exciting fast turn when you are on the groomers on your way back to the lift. Pick your ski based on what you want to ski most and the less exciting parts in between will still be fun due to our commitment to making big powder skis, big mountain skis, all mountain skis and park skis ski that carve a rippin' turn on the groomers.

See you soon at WhiteWater, Red Mountain and Big Red Cats!
