Default Where can I ski this July?

I get a week off in July, and since it's pretty much the only week I get (and can't choose when to take it), I want to do something worthwhile this year. I didn't get out to ski as much this year, and I'm itching to do it.

So... is there anywhere I can go skiing in the USA this July? I found a place in Oregon that's open year-round, but I kinda get the feeling it might not be worth traveling across the country for (I live on the east coast).

How hard is it to leave the country to go skiing? I'm planning to do this trip alone, so at fist I was very hesitant leaving the country since a) I've never traveled alone before and b) I've never traveled out side of the east coast of USA. For reference, I'm not an amazing skiier at all. I just LOVE doing it. But my point is, dropping in from a helicopter and skiing... I don't think I'd be ready for that.

Check out the slopes in Colorado! They're beautiful in the summer!

I agree with Titan. Colodado has great summer skiing. I know Arapahoe Basin is usually open until mid July. Also, most of Colorado's skiing is only a couple hours away from Denver so the drive from the airport isn't that bad.

Default Skiing in Chile

Hi! For skiing in July Chile is an excellent choice. Here you will find great slopes and the best snow, very close to the capital, Santiago, so you can stay in the same ski resort or take a trip to the city in the same day. Besides, every ski center is full equipped with all you may need for your sports. This year, season will start on June and ends on October, and if you decide to go now, you can get cheaper prices and more days. Some of the best ski resorts in Chile are Valle Nevado, with the biggest ski surface in Southamerica and if you rather go south, you can stay in Termas de Chillan, and also enjoy of hot springs and wonderful landscapes. Regards!

Since your travel experiecne is very limited I would keep it simple and stay in the USA. Colorado resorts saty open at least till the 4th of July, so does Mammoth in Cali. You will find mostly slushy conditions eveywhere. Lots of fun and great thing to do. Travel alone and open up to the world...just noticed this is an old thread.
