Sugarloaf skiing and lodging
Our friends introduced us to Sugarloaf last year, and we are planning a January visit once again!!!! Awesome terrains, best kept secret. Unfortunately we have a dog, and the hotel does not accomodate pets.
However, Sugarloaf was so helpful in recommending to us the Herbert Hotel in Kingfield, which is about a 15 mile drive away. We will be staying at the Herbert again (we think it is another best kept secret), not only is it a much cheaper, but is is quaint and has a lot of history behind it, and the staff cannot do enough for you. Those who have not tried Sugarloaf should try it sometime, it is the best skiing in the northeast, and stay at the Herbert. The drive from Montclair is about 8 and half hours, but well worth it for us.
