Default Goals for the upcoming 2009-2010 ski season

Now that summer is halfway over, many people are starting to think about the up coming ski season. What are some of your personal gaols with regard to your skiing this year?

For me, I am looking at getting started. I am an avid and experienced snowboarder and instructor and want to be a better asset to my department so I am going to take some lessons from my co workers and see what this sliding on two sticks thing is all about...

Working out a lot to get my gluts/hamstring/quads in shape plus lower back muscles. So I ride my mountain bike and do lots of stretches.
I'll start skiing as soon as Boreal or Sugar bowl or Heavenly open and work on technique--like tip pressure, carving, and then move into a few racing clinics.
Goals: Enter at least 2 USSA masters GS races and 4 SL's. Ski powder bowl and waterfall with only 2 stops; gunbarrel with 3.

big focus on getting in better shape this year, been doing a ton of squats and platform jumps plus a fair share of biking to get ready. In terms of goals, I'm hoping to be able to land a switch corked 720 this year. Also hoping to do a bit more backcountry skiing which is something i say every year but rarely follow through on

Ditto! Working out to perform better on the slopes.

Being that I'm from Chicago, I always have a difficult time getting acclimated to higher elevations. On my trips out west my muscles feel deprived of oxygen and I get lactic acid build up in my legs. So, this year I am doing lots of cardio workouts as well as total body strength training. I’m looking for strong core and solid legs to keep my on the slopes all.

There’s nothing worse than having spaghetti for legs when conditions are at their best.
