Alpine JOs Kick Off With DH
The 2009 Tyson Junior Olympics kicked off its alpine series Saturday in Vail with men's and women's downhill races.
Ski and Snowboard Club Vail athletes swept the top two podium spots in the men's and women's races.
Nick Braun (Edwards, CO) won the men's downhill followed by teammate J Brinton Barry (Avon, CO). Mitchell Underhill (Minneapolis, MY) of Buck Hill ski team took third.
Ski and Snowboard Club Vail's Celine Guilmineau (Edwards, CO) and Kendall Vanhee (Edwards, CO) took first and second in the women's downhill followed in third by Alex Gencheff (Marquette, MI) of the Central Division.
Alpine Junior Olympics continue in Vail Sunday with a super G.
