Default Skiing after surgery

I may have to have back surgery at some point down the road. I have a problem with my lower back. It's not imminent, but a one of these days proposition. I know I will have to speak to my doctor about my future skiing, but I wonder if anyone here has had any experience with this.

Well, first you need to heal for a long time, about a year and a half and then when your doctor says you are fit to go skiing then you can go.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I will keep that in mind. I hope I can get cleared to go back. I haven't skied long, but I would love to be able to continue.

I would think that if you give your self plenty of time to heal, and work up to it before you take the plunge, as it were, you should be alright.

Thank you i hope that I have one as well because I want to get back on the slopes as soon as possible. I hope it doesn't take as long as a year.

I would be very careful about skiing after a major injury. It could possible lead to a serious re-aggravation of the injury. Bad stuff!
