The U.S. women opened up the new year with hardware Saturday as Julia Ford (Holderness, NH) took third as the NorAm Cup series started up again in Ontario with a slalom. Canadians Marie-Michelle Gagnon and Eve Routhier came first and second respectively.

Laurenne Ross (Klamath Falls, OR) kept close to the leaders, finishing fifth.

The ladies continue their NorAm quest Sunday in Canada with another slalom.
