McKennis Wins Three in a Row
Friday, Alice McKennis (Glenwood Springs, CO) claimed her third win of the week in the women’s super giant slalom, once again beating out Canada’s Kelly McBroom and Georgia Simmerling.
“It was really good and she hung tough and made some good turns through more technical sections,” said Women’s Coach John Hale. “It’s tough enough to win one race, let alone three in a row.”
Other notable races came from U.S. athletes Katie Hitchcock (Sacramento, CA), Julia Littman (Vail, CO) and Jennifer VanWagner (Traverse City, MI) who took fourth fifth and sixth.
“For Littman, this is her first good race since her injury comeback, and for VanWagner, this was a really good day for her,” said Hale.
The women dominated the results page holding four in the top six, five in the top twelve.
Panorama, BC hosts the next set of NorAm races Dec. 14-18, and it will be one to watch for more stellar performances from the women’s U.S.Team.
