Has anyone ever been to any of the indoor skiing places? And if so, is it worth it?
How does it compare to the real thing? There's a snow dome not too far from where I live, and I was considering paying it a visit soon. Here's the link to the site:
Indoor skiing is definately worth it especially if you are just starting out. The GB junior and childrens teams train out of Xscape in Milton Keynes and there are often races there.I read in a skiing mag not long ago that they are planning to build indoor ski slopes that are big enough to run a world cup race on. It's just like skiing outside except shorter.
Excellent, thanks. I might have to check out the Tamworth snow dome. I have heard good things about it, but that it tends to get quite crowded. A friend of mine's brother had his birthday party there, so I'm worried it'd be full of young kids.
I know these places can get really busy so I would try to avoid school holidays and late afternoon, but its summer now so if you can go early in the day you would probably find it nearly empty!
