Olympic Skier Gets A Speeding Fine

The Norwegian Olympic skiing champion, Kjetil Andre Aamodt, has been fined and given a suspended jail sentence for speeding on the roads of Oslo.
He was clocked doing 62mph in a 37mph zone last April. He was also fined for speeding last year.
Aamodt retired in January after a 17 year career in which he won the most Olympic and World Championship medals in Alpine history. He won 8 Olympic medals, including 4 golds, and 12 world championship medals.
"I drove too fast and have to take my punishment so now I have to take public transport or take a ride from my mother", the 35 year-old Aamodt said. According to the court ruling, Aamodt has an estimated wealth of £3.5 million. "That's a rough estimate as I am a little between jobs at the moment," he told the court, "
