Snowmass has a variety of events leading up to and after the 4th:
JULY 2: A Real Western Rodeo: The oldest continuously running
community rodeo in the state of Colorado, the Snowmass Rodeo boasts champion
bull and bronc riders, barrel racing, roping, trick riding, mutton bustin'
for kids and much more, plus a new barbecue from the famed Hickory House of
Ribs of Aspen followed by a campfire sing-a-long with S'mores. Kids ten and
under are FREE! (

JULY 3: FREE Sunset Concert. Popular roots-rock specialists in the
tradition of groups like The Eagles and The Allman Brothers, the Freddy
Jones Band hits the outdoor stage on Fanny Hill. Bring a picnic, and the
kids will love the special free kids' zone just for them. 6 p.m. on Fanny

JULY 4: FREE Independence Day Activities: Try a nature hike or
nature trail walk guided by a naturalist. Independence Day Kids' Krafts
class at 4 p.m. Free access to the two 18-hole disc golf courses and over 40
miles of hiking and biking trails. Head into Aspen for the free July 4th
parade. Additional activities include: river adventures, golf, horseback and
jeep tours, hot air balloon rides, chairlift rides, scenic mountain tours,
historic ghost towns, and more.
JULY 5: FREE Sunset Concert and Fireworks by rhythm & blues
trailblazer Mavis Staples, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer considered one of
VH1's "100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll." 7 p.m. on Fanny Hill, followed by
fireworks.
INDEPENDENCE FROM YOUR CAR: With a free Snowmass shuttle, free
airport transfers from most properties, free public transportation to Aspen,
and five NEW daily flights on low cost carrier Frontier Airlines,
vacationers can leave the car behind and be on the ground and out having fun
in the mountains within an hour of landing at the airport.
