Any tips to hitting a hand rail with out busting a nut. Tried one time and failed, worst feeling ever.

keep trying and trying, no pain, no gain. If it was easy everybody will be doing them. You can start with only a couple of inches of rail and jum off before you crash, and add more inches the next time you hit it.
