Before I tried skiing I made some research about the sport well there are plenty of websites that had informed me on what should I do equipment to use, clothes to wear and places to go for skiing

Hi Karen...one of the great things about cross country skiing is that you can start anywhere you find snow. I've skied to work, in city parks, on golf courses and greenbelts, or, starting out, any safe, frozen lake or pond to learn the basics. For many years skiing was the best way to get to my cabin near the Denali National Park in Alaska. Thee are some great youtube vidoes with lessons you can check out also. Lessons always help but many people go with friends and pick up the sport very quickly.
