Default Calories Burned

Cross country skiing is supposed to be tremendous for burning calories. Has anyone done this as a form of weight loss and had good results?

Last year I did cross country skiing quite a lot, I didn't loose mutch weight, with me it just made my muscles stronger, as it is a tough sport.

I usually do it just to keep my heart pumping, it's a great way to actually get the blood pumping. I don't ever use it to lose weight but It's still good to do just to gain energy.

Does that mean that cross country skiing is better served as an edurance exercise rather than a fat burning one?
