Default CNY cross country skiing season still going strong in Tug Hill area

The cross country skiing season in the Tug Hill isn't over until it's over.

After getting some snow earlier in the week, the Salmon Hills Outdoor Adventure Center in Redfield remains open, with an impressive 17 inches of base on all its trails.

"There's just a few spots along the reservoir that are a little wet from where the water is coming up. Other than that, all the trails are fine," said employee Nikki Phillips this morning.

Phillips said this is the first year she's worked at Salmon Hills and is "surprised" at how long the snow is lasting.
