I wonder what is the best way to prepare a pair of waxless classic skis for summer storage.

Somebody told me that the best way to protect the base from oxidation is to cover he whole base INCLUDING THE KICK ZONE with a thick layer of glide wax.

This makes perfect sense for the glide zone, but I am bit concerned that I will not be able to get the wax off the "fish scales" in the kick zone.

Does anybody know if this is a good idea? If not, how should I prepare the kick zone of waxless skis for summer storage?
