Default IPC Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing Finals at Mt. Washington

From 10 to 14 March, Mt. Washington and the Comox Valley, British Columbia, Canada, will host the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing World Cup Finals (sprint and long distance).
Organized by the Comox Valley World Cup Organizing Committee, around 80 athletes from 13 nations will compete for medals, World Cup points and final World Cup rankings. The competition is also considered an unofficial test event for both the participating athletes and the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (VANOC) as they prepare to host the 2010 Winter Paralympics. VANOC will send an eight-member team to the competition, including John Aalberg, VANOC Director of Nordic Sports, Rob Bernhardt, VANOC Cross-Country Sport Manager and Dena Coward, VANOC Director Paralympic Games.
Biathlon and Cross-Country are open to athletes with a physical disability (sit-ski and standing classes) and athletes with a visual impairment (who compete with a sighted guide). Both sports are governed by the IPC and follow modified rules of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
