Arritola Leads U.S. Women in 10K
The U.S. Ski Team's Morgan Arritola (Fairfield, ID) finished 18th Tuesday in the Under-23 Cross Country World Championships. Arritola, who has had five other top-20 finishes this season, led the U.S. followed by teammates Liz Stephen (East Montpelier, VT) in 19th and Taz Mannix (Talkeetna, AK) in 21st.
Russian Olga Tiagai won the women's 10K, followed by Aurore Cuinet of France in second and Finn Silja Tarvonen in third.
In the men's 15K race, Michael Sinnott (Sun Valley, ID) led the U.S. in 37th. Martin Jaks of the Czech Republic won, followed by Alexey Poltaranin of Kazakhstan in second and Norwegian Petter Eliassen in third.
The U-23 Cross Country World Championships will conclude on Thursday with a men's 30K and a woman's 15K.
